Eligibility:

All students must complete courses in both the fall and winter terms to be eligible. In most cases, students must register for and complete at least 60 percent of a full course load per term (i.e., a minimum of 9 credit hours per term). Graduate students do not have to adhere to credit hour minimums provided they are registered as full-time students over the fall and winter terms with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Applicants must meet minimum G.P.A. requirements. Continuing students must have a minimum degree G.P.A. of 2.0. New students (from high school) must have a grade 12 average of 70% or higher. Students admitted on Mature Student Status may also be eligible for bursary consideration. International students in their first year of post-secondary study in Canada are not eligible to apply to the general bursary program.

Financial need must be clearly documented on the application.   1. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS)

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) was created to attract and retain world-class doctoral students and to establish Canada as a global centre of excellence in research and higher learning.  The scholarships are towards a doctoral degree (or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD).

Host Institution(s):

Canadian Universities with Vanier CGS allocation. Without exception, the Vanier CGS is tenable only at the eligible Canadian institution that submitted the nomination.

Level/Field(s) of study:

PhD programmes (or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD) in health research; natural sciences and/or engineering research; and social sciences and/or humanities research

An eligible doctoral program must include a significant research component that leads to the completion of a thesis, major research project, dissertation, scholarly publication, performance, recital, and/or exhibit that is merit/expert-reviewed at the institutional level as a requirement for completion of the program.

 

Joint graduate research programs with a professional degree (e.g., MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, JD/PhD) as well as clinically-oriented programs of study, including clinical psychology, are also eligible programs if they have a significant autonomous research component, as described above.

Up to 166 scholarships are awarded annually

Humber International Entrance Scholarships

Humber offers partial renewable tuition scholarships for NEW international undergraduate students beginning classes in September 2019 and January 2020.

Scholarship value/duration:

Seven (7) $5,000 scholarships and two (2) $3,000 scholarships are available in September 2019 while three (3) $5,000 scholarships and one $3,000 scholarships will be available in January 2020. The scholarships will be applied to the successful students’ tuition fees.

The scholarships are renewable but the student must maintain a minimum average of 75% in order to be eligible for renewal.

Eligibility:

Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters, and statement of interest.

The International Entrance Scholarship program at Humber is currently under review. More information will be posted on the official website when it becomes available.

You must first apply for admissions before you can apply for the scholarship. The scholarship application form will be included in your acceptance package. The deadline is 17 May 2019 for the September 2019 intake and 27 September 2019 for January 2020 intake.
