The quality of teaching and learning at Blooming Greens School is such that meets the needs of every pupil whilst attempting to challenge them further. Pupils develop their speaking, listening, writing, reading and critical thinking skills by following our rich curriculum scheme. The love for reading and sharing books with peers and adults develops as they become independent readers. History, Geography and cross-curricular topics which foster deep thinking and understanding of the world are all brought alive through practical hands-on experience and regular field trips. We equip our pupils with lifelong skills such as problem solving, computing skills, team and collaborative learning opportunities. The Key Stage 2 level comprises of Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. This is the stage where academic foundation that is laid in the Key Stage 1 is built upon and consolidated. Learning activities at this stage are tailored towards the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills in the children. Teaching strategies employed here involve a lot of collaboration, individual and group projects and researches. Pupils get to do project presentations and defence using power point and other relevant computer packages. Pupils are exposed to rigorous but stimulating academic and mental experiences. Assessments here also include aspects that test children’s ability to infer, predict, apply, evaluate, synthesize and create. At the end of Key Stage 2, children are well grounded to tackle any challenge in colleges. Their Emotional Intelligence (EI) is adequately strengthened.

History of blooming greens school

The school was borne out of passion of the founder Mrs Susan Babatunde Yamah to redefine early childhood education through character grooming and eclectic teaching approach to harness all innate and obvious potential of the child and also to nurture future leaders through sensitive development of the mind and intellect. Blooming Greens signifies “life and growth” and the name has played an applaudable role in its rapid growth numerically and academic achievements. Blooming Greens School got its licence for operation from the Lagos State Ministry of Education within the first 6months of operation in 2016 and having met all the requirements and standards that depict an international school got enrolled into the Association of International School Educators of Nigeria, (AISEN) in 2017. We opened our doors to our first set of pupils on the 19th of September 2016 admitting 31 pupils and 2yrs and a few months on, we have about 200 pupils enrolled across the classes, from the EYFS to the key stage classes in September 2018. We have continued to equip our pupils with the highest quality and standards of education in mind and intellect applying international best practices, while acknowledging how fast the world is changing and knowing our pupils will have to adapt in a rapidly evolving world. Our children are constantly exposed to internal and external competitions to enhance interpersonal relationship skills, communication skills, self-confidence, team work and healthy competition. We can proudly say that we have achieved great results within the short period. Our teaching and non- teaching staff are a team of personnel well trained to deliver high quality standards of education in all ramifications.
