A walkthrough Emerald Community School (ECS) is never complete without interacting with our brilliant students and staff who make the school such a great place to learn and grow from Pre-kindergarten to Junior High School. Teachers understand each individual child and provide them with the most easy and adaptable techniques to learn as well as develop morally, spiritually and physically. Joining the school from December 2018 has really enriched my experience and I have learnt much from the school's culture of providing holistic education. We provide the best possible environment for a healthy educational development through a carefully planned and structured curriculum in a serene setting in which children learn and grow in a natural way. The school teaches its student to be independent learners, whose mastery skills serve as the foundation of purposeful life. Our students desire to learn and they know how to learn through discipline and comprehensive studies. In addition to the emphasis on academic excellence, the students are given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities on internal and external competitive platforms. The result is evident in the school's recent achievements at the 2019 National Essay Competition in February, when a Primary four student - Salma Mohammed Rashidi, placed 5th out of the best One Hundred scripts shortlisted. Likewise, four students out of seven who represented the school in the 2019 National UCMAS competition, for the first time, won four trophies (one championship, two first placed and one second placed trophies) in their respective ages 8 to 12 categories. It is said that a thin line separates a "Good School" from a "Great School". I am pleased to acclaim that ECS is on course in becoming a truly "Great School" and will not relent its efforts till it attains true Greatness. I humbly welcome all children to experience good education in a competitive learning environment at ECS for a total lifelong development.

The late Mrs. Caroline Ohene Kwadade founded, Emerald Community School, formerly known as ‘Emerald Montessori Nursery and Educational Centre’ in 1995 with her husband at their Haatso residence (a suburb of Accra). As a former nursery teacher at Association International School, she was passionate about child education and development and saw the need to establish a Montessori school. As an experienced educationist, Mrs. Kwadade envisioned a place where both low income and middle-income families could bring their children for pre-school education; an environment where children could joyfully learn and engage in fun filled activities and develop a love for learning at a reasonable cost. Over the years, due to the quality of education the students received from the school, she was approached by some parents who requested the addition of a primary school department to the preschool department. After fourteen (14) years of running just as a preschool, she finally started class 1 in 2009 with a few of her KG2 graduates. Sadly, Mrs. Caroline Ohene Kwadade passed away in August 2015. In 2017, the existing Directors of the School nominated and appointed the following: Messers Kwame and Nana Yaw Kwadade, Mrs. Sally Kwadade and Ms. Adwoa Obiribea Ampofo to the board as Directors of the school’s management. The Directors oversee and assist in effectively managing the school. The new board decided to move the school from the old site to its current location as a step in expanding the school to serve its growing population. In June 2018, the new management made the decision to rebrand the school. This process involved a name change from ‘Emerald Montessori Nursery and Educational Centre’ to ‘Emerald Community School’ and a change of our logo. The school currently runs the GES curriculum from preschool to Junior High School.
