About Us

The Grundtvig Polytechnic is a residential tertiary institution. It is inspired by our traditional education and the Education for Life philosophy of Bishop N.F.S. Grundtvig of Denmark after whom the school is named. On 18th February 2019, following a prior rigorous resource inspection by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Grundtvig Polytechnic received the approval of the Honourable Minister of Education which was conveyed in a formal letter by NBTE’s Executive Secretary, Dr M. A. Kazaure. The Operating Licence was later formally presented to Grundtvig Polytechnic by the Minister at a ceremony in Abuja on 29th April, 2019.

National Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical &Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Accountancy, Business Administration & Management, Entrepreneurship.
Admission Requirements

Admission into ND programmes is based on the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Candidates must have chosen Grundtvig Polytechnic as one of their choices. However, candidates who did not choose Grundtvig Polytechnic but wish to change to Grundtvig Polytechnic must do a Change of Institution on JAMB website (www.jamb.org.ng/efacility) or contact the Polytechnic for assistance: 09015188125, 09019948027, 09020132877. 

Admission Procedures

1. Eligibilty:

a. Candidates must posses five (5) O/L credits in relevant subjects including Mathematics and English Language in not more than two sittings.

b. Candidates must have written the JAMB UTME.

c.Candidates must have chosen Grundtvig Polytechnic as one of their choices.

d. Candidates who did not choose Grundtvig Polytechnic but wish to change to Grundtvig Polytechnic must do a Change of Institution on JAMB website (www.jamb.org.ng/efacility) or contact the Polytechnic for assistance.

2. Acceptance:

a. Candidates pay an Acceptance Fee of N10,000 and a Processing Fee of N2,000 to: Grundtvig Polytechnic, First Bank Account Number: 2034370922.

b. Candidates visit Grundtvig Polytechnic with evidence of payments to obtain, fill and submit the Confirmation of Admission Form OR visit the Polytechnic Portal (www.gpolyportal.com) to fill and submit the form online.

3. Confirmation:

Successful candidates will be issued a Confirmation of Admission letter to enable them pay their fees and register as students of the Polytechnic.

History

The Grundtvig Polytechnic is a residential tertiary institution. It is owned by the Grundtvig Movement of Nigeria (GMN), a non-profit, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) registered by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the land (Perpetual Succession) Act Cap. 98. It is inspired by our traditional education and the Education for Life philosophy of Bishop N.F.S. Grundtvig of Denmark after whom the school is named. The idea of The Grundtvig Polytechnic was conceived by the founder of Grundtvig Movement of Nigeria (GMN), Dr. Kachi E. Ozumba (1942-2011). The Polytechnic is part of an international network of Grundtvig-inspired schools across the world. 

On 18th February 2019, following a prior rigorous resource inspection by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Grundtvig Polytechnic received the approval of the Honourable Minister of Education which was conveyed in a formal letter by NBTE’s Executive Secretary, Dr M. Scholarships
