About Us

At the top of Zugerberg mountain lies Institut Montana Zugerberg. Since 1926, we are a Swiss international day school and boarding school offering academic programs for students aged 6-19. Our global community has 300 students from
over 40 nationalities who come here to develop into successful and open-minded individuals. Students from 10 years of age or older are also welcome to live on campus for a full boarding experience.

Our 60-acre campus is located less than one hour from Zurich, the financial capital of Switzerland and is a short cable car ride away from the city of Zug. Our spacious location provides students with safety, a variety of activities and space for them to pursue their passions.

Our four schools offer students the choice between studying the IGCSE, Swiss Matura, IB Diploma or US High School Diploma, all of which are accredited. Our average class size holds 10 students and we have a student-staff ratio of 4:1 which ensures personal care and support for overall development.

Admission Requirements

Our thorough admissions process ensures that students meet the academic and personal requirements necessary
to succeed in our community. We review each candidate on a case-by-case basis to define special needs and
admission into a recommended educational programme or school, or both.

As a first step, we invite you to contact us at: admissions@montana-zug.ch with the following:

- The students’ full name and age
- Copy of the students’ passport
- Language skills
- English proficiency certificate
- Official school transcripts from the last two years

You may also fill out an inquiry form at: www.montana-zug.ch/en/admissions

From there, we can continue along the admissions process to see if the student meets all necessary requirements to be a successful scholar at our school.

Admission Procedures

1.Inquire

We would first like to get to know you and the student. Please send the following to: admissions@montana-zug.ch

- The students’ full name and age
- Copy of the students’ passport
- Language skills
- English proficiency certificate

You may also fill out an inquiry form at: www.montana-zug.ch/en/admissions

2. Skype interview or on-campus visit

Our Skype or on-campus admissions interview takes a holistic approach based on the students’ school
grades, interests, academic level and overall career goals so that we can place the student in the best school
and programme for their personal development. We highly recommend visiting the campus when possible to
experience the school and to meet our current students and teachers.

3. Student assessment

In order to best place the student, we will need to review their academic standing.

- General Ability Test: The CAT4 Ability test assesses English skills separately from quantitative, spatial and
non-verbal skills.
- English Essay: An English essay will be completed without external help or a dictionary. Our Language
Department will then assess the essay and decide the English level placement of the student.

4. Offer letter

After receiving the school transcripts, conducting the interview and reviewing the language tests, we will then send a potential offer letter that states which school and programme best fits the students’ needs.

5. Submit final application

If the student receives an offer letter, then they will have to submit final documents and we will then work together with the student and their family to prepare for a successful start to the school year
