Kiddicare School

Kiddicare School has grown from humble beginnings to become a center of academic excellence and moral discipline. My late wife (Mrs. Christine Patricia Bansah) and I began working on a vision about thirty (30) years ago. The dream was conceived on the advice of Mrs. Parkes, following a meeting between my late wife and Mrs. Parkes in London. Mrs. Parkes advised against establishing a nursing home in Ghana, citing the fact that it would be unworkable in Ghana because people would abandon their elderly relatives and flee; on her advice, we established Kiddicare School. Looking at how far we've come with the vision, it's hard to believe we started with almost no money. I was a salaried employee, and she was a housewife. My current home had already been completed at the time, so we began there because we were living in a government bungalow in Cantonments at the time (part of Accra). After putting up some furniture, the rooms in the house appeared to be too small for even a few chairs to begin a school, so we began with a wooden structure to accommodate the first children admitted. The school officially opened on October 5, 1992, with 5 students in Crèche and Nursery. My wife's ability to carefully handle the children in the school, as a professional nurse, resulted in a progressive increase in the number of pupils. The following year, the number increased from 5 to 13. We built a classroom every year until we had four for the Crèche, Nursery, and Kindergarten. At the Crèche, Nursery, and Kindergarten, we had experienced teachers. Because there was no formal and continuation school, the student population declined later on. Many parents enrolled their children in other schools that provide a more formal education. My wife advised that we continue with a formal schooling system in 1997/98. We put our faith in God, and in 1998 we were able to build a proper school facility for the Primary School. She died in 1999, therefore she was unable to witness the fulfillment of her goal in its entirety. Nevertheless, we kept using the wooden building through class 6, which was in 2001. We had to build sturdy buildings because of the parents' insistence on very good structures. Both sections were completed in 2001 and 2002, respectively. We currently have a full-fledged educational system that includes a STEM and hybrid school system that runs from Pre-School to Junior High School Form 3. The school has already graduated 17 batches of Junior High School students, and their Basic Education Certificate Examination results have been a resounding success. The sky is the limit when it comes to Kiddicare School! At Kiddicare School, we strive to educate our students in ways that go beyond the classroom. We promote values such as curiosity, respect, and resilience. Our goal is to treat each child as an individual, ensuring that they are as prepared as possible for the next stage of their educational lives.
