Legacy Preparatory School, Akowonjo, Lagos, Nigeria was established in September 2007. Over the years, the school has steadily grown to the enviable standard it is today. With her imposing structures and roomy accommodation, we can now boast of a massive population with candidates on the waiting list for most classes. We operate the Nigerian/British curricula. The pupils are meticulously guided by seasoned educators from the point of entry until they sit for the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Examination and other Entrance Examinations in Year Six. These comprise Year 1 and 2 that forms the Key Stage (KS) 1 and Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 that form the Key Stage (KS) 2. Students are taught, and play active roles in learning based on a blend of the British and Nigerian Curricula. Subjects taught are divided into ‘core’ subjects comprising English, Mathematics and Science and ‘Foundation’ subjects comprising a number of subjects from which the most suitable are drawn. Pupils in Year 6 are able to sit for the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint organized by Cambridge International Examinations and various common entrance examinations organized by schools nationally. Coupled with the curricular activities at the Key Stages 1 and 2 are co-curricular activities that assist a child in an all-round development. Clubs in the school through which this objective is attained include the Taekwondo, Ballet/dance, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, etc. The Key Stages 1 and 2 also have a Learning Support programme through which students are supported in attaining their best.
