Norwegian International School is situated in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria. Port Harcourt is an industrial town, located in the southern part of Nigeria. It is also a major oil producing city in the region. Norwegian International School began in 1983 with two teachers and approximately twelve students. The school was founded in order to meet the needs of the expatriates working for Eastern Bulkcem Cement Company. As the years went by, NIS grew and children from other companies began to attend NIS. Today, the school is enriched with different nationalities and continues to provide top quality international education to children from ages 12 months to 16 years old.
