This prospectus has been put together by the children, staff, governors and parents of schools. We hope it helps you gain an understanding of how our school is organized and to appreciate the exciting opportunities on offer to children in our care. All schools have their own distinctive 'feel' which makes each one unique. We believe that the 'special feel' at Philadelphia Nursery, Primary and Secondary school is to do with our caring and friendly atmosphere. Our School continues to develop in many exciting ways, providing a rich and quality experience for our pupils. Just within our first year of establishment we have been oversubscribed by local families wanting a place for their son or daughter to start in our reception class, and as a consequence the decision to expand is in full gear. We have taken a phased approach to moving from one-form to one-point-five, with a cohort admission limit of 45 children. By September 2018 we reached our full capacity of 315 pupils (Reception to Y6). We are already benefitting from a range of new facilities including additional classrooms and cloakrooms, new dedicated entrances and a studio for music and drama activities. Our vision for Philadelphia Nursery, Primary and Secondary School reflects a passionate commitment to learning and recognition of the uniqueness of individual learners. It is driven by our desire to offer the best possible education for our pupils in partnership with parents and the local community.

The concept of building Philadelphia Schools was nursed several years back. The incessant rising and falling of the standard of education in Nigeria gave us huge worry and we felt we could contribute our own quota or possibly make a mark in the Nigerian Education Sector. We are also mindful of the fact that building a school of our choice with reputable standard is capital intensive, in lieu of this we started making plans towards it, finally in September 2016 we abandoned every project and concentrated on building the Philadelphia school. This action was predicated on our great passion in touching lives, mostly children from the Nigeria and other Nationalities. Philadelphia Schools was completed in December 2016 and on the 16th of January 2017 Philadelphia Schools joined the National Academic Calendar. As the proud Proprietress of Philadelphia Schools, I welcome and invite you to learn about our dynamic school community. At Philadelphia school, learning takes place in an engaging environment which encourages our children to be creative, think critically and be independent and to develop self confidence. We warmly welcome children from primary to secondary school and we look forward to engaging in partnerships with their families to support the children to be responsible, caring and cooperative learners who will become globally responsible citizens of the future. We are committed to developing the whole child socially, emotionally, physically and academically. PNPS has High expectations for every child. Children actively participate in a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is planned, flexible, explicit, dynamic and reflects the children's interest and needs. ICT is embedded across the curriculum. School based enrichment programmes and a differentiated approach to curriculum provide opportunities for the children who are gifted, talented and as well as ensuring inclusive education for children with learning difficulties and special needs. Open communication, the result of close partnerships between staff and parents provides a secure and cooperative learning environment for our children. Our door is open so please feel free to contact us at any time. I look forward to your involvement in our school and the lives of our children.
