Our students don’t go to classes – they go to laboratories. At Premier College, attention is placed on hands-on learning as opposed to theoretical learning. That’s why each of our learning centres is dedicated to one subject only making them essentially laboratories.
Students typically enter Premier College at JSS1 following a satisfactory performance in the school's Computer-Based Entrance Examination and Entrance Interview. This interview is by appointment only. Interview and Examination dates will be communicated to you on form submission at any of our venues.
Applicants wishing to sit for PC Entrance Examination must obtain an Application Form from the College campus, the liaison office, or download same from the school website. The cost of the Application Form is N5, 000. Forms downloaded from the website must be returned along with the form fee.
On the appointed examination day, your child will be invited to sit for the Computer-Based-Test. The applicant must meet minimum cut-off mark before proceeding for Entrance Interview. Whilst the interview is ongoing, parents/guardian are free to ask questions from staff in attendance.
Successful candidates are notified of their acceptance by e-mail, text messages and phone calls. This will be followed by a formal letter from the Principal. Candidates offered admission are expected to indicate acceptance by making a non-refundable deposit of N10,000 only. This will be deducted from your child First Term fees. Please note that complete fees are payable on or before your child’s day of resumption
An admission pack with all required details and necessities of School life at Premier College, term calendar, uniforms, textbooks and so on are given to each enrolled student. Uniforms and textbooks are provided to your child at no extra cost. Ceremonial wear (like School blazers) and recommended shoes are available for purchase at the School Store.
The procedure is slightly different for students entering JS2 and other classes. Please enquire to get further details from the Admission counsellor.
Students new to the school are carefully monitored both academically and pastorally. Progress is recorded by written report at the end of each term, and via Parents’ Meeting for your child’s age group each year. If there is reason for concern at any other time, we will contact the parent / guardian directly. If you are worried about anything, your child’s Class Teacher, The College Registrar or Hostel Manager will always be willing to help. There are also regular Parents Teachers Online Hangouts where comments and questions are entertained by school officials.
We have setup an interactive platform for parents, teachers, and students. It is our own Facebook-like social platform packed with educational resources, and a teacher-to-student, parent-to-child, and student-to-student academic support. Just another simple idea for promoting student-teacher communication off classroom and laboratory environs.
