TLS is a Montessori school, that allows the child to think and helps him in solving problems peculiar to him, but we have also put into cognizance the cultural values, norms and moral integrity of our community. Hence the blending of Montessori system with wide variety of curriculum in order to help the Nigerian child to function properly in his intermediate community and whatever environment he finds himself. As sociologist would rightly say, "education must be tailored to suit the child's immediate environment", but as the world is fast becoming a global village as a results of technological advancement, we also are at the fore front of ensuring that every child at TLS is prepared or geared towards a globalized outlook in their thinking and how they perceive things which is why a wide curriculum is introduced in the first place. TLS remains a school that trains its staffs and and members on a continuous basis and also a school that keeps upgrading the scheme of work on a termly basis in order to give the pupils opportunity to learn at their own pace. We have also made Mathematics, English and science major tools in our academic pursuit because statistically, a lot of of challenges by the Nigerian child is in the aspect of the above mentioned subjects. Hence, under Mathematics, we have separated geometry and mental drills in order to keep testing and keep pushing the child to his peak. Also in the area of English Language right from the reception class to the final elementary class, we introduce creative writing and varieties of books that enhance comprehension and composition in an expository manner in order to bring about in depth understanding. In addition, we also take cognizance of the fact that most Nigerian Child do not perform well in physics and chemistry which are the major subjects in science and this may be due to faulty foundation or background of the child from the elementary level. This is why Science at TLS is made practical and enjoyable in order to arouse the child's interest in the sciences as he/she progresses in the academic pursuit.
