Overwhelming success recorded consistently over the years by our pupils in the National Common Entrance Examination, as well as in their placements into Federal Government Colleges and reputable secondary schools at home and abroad are eloquent testimonies of our emphasis on academic excellence. In addition, Childville School is proud of a team of hard-working, well dedicated and highly skilled staff whose desire it is to provide children with an all embracing basic education capable of moulding them into some of the best human resources for our dear nation. The Childville Nursery School was founded in October 1981 by Mrs. Olugbeminiyi Modupe-Ore Smith. The Nursery school which was situated at Ibikunle Street, Yaba, began with only 15 pupils. There were only two teachers; Mrs. Smith and a Sri-Lankan lady called Mrs. Honouring Gnanapragasam. Although the school started with 15 children on the first day, the number kept increasing daily so much so that by the end of the term, the number on roll had grown to 50. Mrs. Smith, an alumnae of Froebel Institute of Education, University of London, and her handful of dedicated staff, worked very hard giving of their best and prayed well so that by January 1987, the Primary School had begun. It is conveniently situated at Raymond Street. Since its foundation, Childville grew steadily with improved facilities to enhance teaching and learning and by the end of the second term, there were about 125 children in the school. The school was approved after the 1st official inspection by the Lagos State Ministry of Education in October 1987 and the first Head Teacher was Mrs. O.M. Smith.In January 1988, Mrs. Funsho Adeleke and Mrs. B. O. Doherty were appointed Head Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher respectively.
