History of Kenyatta Secondary School

Kenyatta Secondary School was started way back in January 1982 as a double stream. The school mushroomed from Mama Ngina Primary School. The Primary school donated administration block plus some classes. In the year 1986, the Board of governors was appointed. There being some piece of land adjacement to the school that was vacant, the P.C. Rift Valley, the Late Hezekia Oyugi donated the piece of land for expansion of the school. It is regrettable that the school can presently only lay claim to about an acre following a land dispute with the neighbours which has dragged on for a long time. Despite the land dispute, the school has developed to its current state where it has an enrolment of 1020 students, 36 members of teaching staff, 13 members of support staff and several physical facilities. Kenyatta Secondary School is a Mixed Public Day School. The school community still gears towards development to even greater heights.
